On a day in early July, my company, True Platform, which creates SaaS products for English-speaking markets, had a meeting to discuss Leadership Principles.
All the 5 principles are so resonated with me; however, the third one, "Be a strong-will believers," hit me the hardest.
This reminded me of a post I wrote about "3 beliefs" after graduating from university years ago, which I have shared with my former colleagues:
Today, I graduate, marking the end of 4 years at the university and temporarily concluding my student life. The days of studying at school have ended a year ago, but for me, today is the day when the feeling of true closure sets in. It's no longer about transitioning from one grade to another, or from high school to college; everything ahead is a result of my own choices.
Amidst the myriad of fluctuations out there, what remains constant?
What will propel me forward each day?
If given the choice, at this moment, I think I would carry three things with me on every path: Believe in yourself; Believe in others and Believe in the beautiful final destination.
Believing in yourself means knowing that each of us is unique, "There is no one alive who is youer than you"; taking good care of yourself and learning to listen to our own inner voices every day.
Believing in others means recognizing that we are truly rich because trust is a precious gift we can give to each other.
Believe in the beautiful final destination so you have the energy to move forward each day. There's a passage that I've always liked: "Wait until you reach the top of the mountain, you will understand that if you give up on the way, you will never understand." Pause, then continue, "A hundred thousand times, never give up! If you give up the first time, you will develop a habit of finding it difficult to retreat, but if you overcome it, you will develop a habit of embracing challenges and moving straight ahead. It seems like a simple choice, but in reality, it has a tremendous impact, leading you in a completely different direction in life."
Surprisingly, all the dots are connected:
Since the first days, "3 beliefs" principles has been a vital part of me, shaping who I am today.
I joined True because of the big why, and I found here all the values I respected.
And later, when our CEO first talked about Honor Platform, a product for employee empowerment, I knew that this path was somehow the right way for me: to encourage and cherish more and more strong-will believers in the trusted and love-filled organizations. That's why we chose this tagline for our coming products:
“We've built Honor Platform with the passionate belief in the potential of any human beings: an ordinary person with a strong will could build extraordinary things.”
As I reach the final lines of my past post, a sense of relief washes over me. My aspirations perfectly mirror the actions I take every single day to shape our work environment:
Perhaps I'm not a big thinker, with distant dreams; a year from now, ten years from now, I don't even know where I'll be, but I believe and hope that I'll still be striving and giving my all in every choice, in every step along the way.
Wishing all of us beautiful days ahead!
